Three-in-One Membership
By joining the Association, you automatically become a member of the National Association of Home Builders and the North Carolina Association of Home Builders. The National Association of Home Builders, a federation of more than 235,000 builders, remodelers and industry associates, strives to enhance the climate of the housing and building industry through public policy analysis, industry-wide media relations, and representing the industry’s issues on Capitol Hill. The North Carolina Home Builders Association is a dynamic group of builders and associate member-firms across the state who pool information and efforts to provide the collective clout and muscle the home building industry needs.
Governmental Affairs
The Association’s Governmental Affairs Department works closely with federal, state and local elected officials on issues that affect the home building and development industries. As an umbrella organization, the Association provides governmental affairs services to the Brunswick County Home Builders Association, the South Brunswick Islands Home Builders Association, the Topsail Island Association of REALTORS® and the Brunswick County Landowners Association. By representing you at the local, state and national levels, the Association keeps you in business!
Meetings/Networking
The Association hosts many events allowing members to meet and do business with other members in both formal and casual atmospheres, including the Parade of Homes, HomeEXPO, monthly general membership meetings, educational courses, golf tournaments and council meetings. The “Do Business with a Member” program encourages business relationships between builders and associates for the mutual benefit of both their companies and the industry.
Education
From regular classes and seminars to keynote speakers and nationally-recognized certification programs, the Association keeps members up-to-date on issues and developments crucial to their success in the industry. Participation in these member-only educational opportunities enables you to stay ahead of your non-member competitors.
Insurance
Builders Mutual Insurance, the Association’s premier provider of worker’s compensation insurance, offers money-saving discounts exclusively to members. More detailed information is provided upon joining.
Marketing and Advertising
Want to increase your business’ visibility and credibility? Opportunities abound to sponsor a major event, including the Parade of Homes and HomeEXPO or general membership meeting. In addition, you can advertise in the Association’s monthly newsletter, annual directory and on the web site. The Association’s advertising rates are consistently below local media outlets while getting your company’s name and message before your targeted audience. For more information about sponsorships, contact Jennifer Buehler, and for more information about advertising, contact Emily Gorman-Fancy.
Industry Publications
The Association keeps its members on top of local, state and national trends, legislative actions and technology through various publications. Members receive complimentary subscriptions to the National Association of Home Builder’s Builder magazine and the e-newsletter Nation’s Building News. In addition, the Association produces the following members-only publications:
- The Tool Box
The monthly newsletter covering local governmental affairs and legal issues, and Association news and events
- Builder’s News
The weekly e-newsletter including industry news and local meeting and course listings
- The Annual Membership Directory
A convenient telephone directory of all builder members, associate members, board of directors and staff, as well as a Buyers Guide
Build PAC
Build PAC represents members uniting to support the best-qualified, pro-housing candidates running for local office. Build PAC is completely independent and bipartisan, and candidates are chosen on their merits alone, giving the Association political clout in the election process.
